Why?

We normally think of pain and suffering as bad, and we do our best to avoid them. But since they are inevitable parts of life, maybe we should adjust our thinking. Instead of grumbling about our problems or blaming someone else, let’s look to the Bible to see how God uses our trials to draw us closer to Him. Why? Seeing God in Our Pain shows the root causes of our pain and suffering and allows us to see Him more clearly as a God who really does care.

Contents include:

  1. The Problem of Pain
  2. Why Do We Suffer?
  3. The Consequences of Choice
  4. Where is God?
  5. The End of Suffering

  1. I love Our Daily Bread. Reading it for years. Hurt & ached for Dave Branson & prayed. Was hurt by the death of Julia Ackerman Link last year. love seeing still having some in there. Thank you & Big Blessings to all. I lost my husband 6 yrs ago which we read together. This is how he started his walk with Jesus. How beautiful to watch & be. Love you all. Eliz

  2. I have been a believer for many years now. I came to Jesus broken. He carried me through a very dark time in my twenties. I have such joy & contentment in my life now. He has taught me that “WHY” is a question that He will not always answer and I am thankful. I have learned that we don’t always have the capacity to understand the “WHY” but that we need to be thankful the we know, He, who does & has our best interests in His hands. In the “WHY” times we need to lay back in His arms and be thankful for His never ending love.

  3. I was brought up in a strong Christian home. As little children I can still see my mother kneeling besides our beds teaching or saying prayers..(Gentle Jesus meek & mild..One of the first prayers she taught us .)but in getting older I thought I had to live like Jesus did and lost hope in the many times I failed. This was overcome at a Billy Graham Crusade when my eyes were opened to receiving Christ as my Saviour, by Grace. HE PAID FOR MY SINS. What a wonderful love, and now I try to live as close to Him as I can for such a beautiful love.

  4. GOD ALMIGHTY CREATED EVERYTHING, SO PAIN DIRECTS ME TO SEEK HELP FROM HE WHO CAN DO ALL THINGS, PAIN HELPS TO RE -POSITION ME TO PRAY, READ THE BIBLE
    with more humble and curious attitude. pain makes me see my human need for GOD WHO is ALL KNOWING and compassionate.

  6. Pain is one way by which we find our bearings in life. It always points us the best way to go knowing God is with us and will not abandon us no matter what circumstances.

  7. Praise the Lord;

    Sometimes, we feel like God has forsaken us, but if we keep on trusting God, we’ll know that He will never forsake us and He’ll never leave us, destitute. He’s an absolute Jehovah, Praise the Almighty God!

  9. It is such a blessing to find Our Daily Bread on my phone. I have been missing out on so much. God’ s word is truly a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. I still read my bible but this format makes it so much better. God Bless!

  10. When I was a child, it was said you do not ask God why. Now that I am grown and a Christian, I am joyful I can ask God why because that helps me to understand what God has for me. I know He can answer me if He wants or just wait on Him and that is bringing me closer to Him and I am joyful about that. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage. That is what I do, wait on Him until my change has come. Praise God
